'Salt Water' - Titanium Earrings
The recycled titanium in these earrings were originally used as part of the refrigeration plates in a prawn trawler. Once a plate develops a pin hole, they are discarded for scrap metal. I purchased the titanium from my scrap metal merchant, where I then spend many hours polishing in order to gain a brighter colour upon patination. As the titanium was once part of the sea, I wanted to make jewellery from it relating to the sea.
Each earring has its own individual colours and there may be slight differences in the colouring from side to side.
To care for your ears, my hooks are made of recycled sterling silver (925).
