Celebrating Townsville T150 Exhibition

I am very pleased to be included in the Celebrating Townsville T150 exhibition held at Umbrella Studio in July.  The exhibition celebrates Townsville’s 150th year through the James Cook University Lecturers and their chosen students.  The curator Ross Searle chose 12 artists all JCU alumni, to demonstrate the lineage of teacher to student and the positive impact of art education.  My sculpture lecturer Jane Hawkins selected me and I am very proud to have been chosen. The other Art Educators include; Dr James Brown, Anne Lord, Ron McBurnie, Dr Robert Preston, Dr Anneke Silver, and their students and practicing artists also include; Daphne Cazalet, Barbara Cheshire, Sheree Kinlyside, Jill O’Sullivan and Lucy T. Smith.

I’d like to mention a very big thanks to the Special Collections Staff, particularly Bronwyn McBurnie.

A PDF of the catalogue with Ross Searle’s curatorial essay can be found at Libguides or directly to the Catalogue online. My interview can be found at either on youtube  or the full interview and photos on the JCU News Network.
