At the root of all of my work is the desire to recycle, or more accurately, to re-invent discarded materials which would otherwise end up as landfill. These metal-based artworks utilise the neglected and overlooked materials likely to be found in most sheds or junk drawers. Working with unconventional materials as diverse as keys, hooks, hairpins, coins, paperclips, nails, nuts, bolts and washers, enables me to invest the form with additional layers of meaning, and invites the viewer to engage in a game of creative wordplay.
